For background the home is infused with the evil spirits of the cultists that once resided there. My favorite thing to do as a player is cast spells and see what happens.

Death House is the 1st quest in the In the Shadow of the Castle story arc Story arcs are chains of chains or quests that make up a story line. These are all cool and interesting. When the adventurers complete Death House they’ll be 3rd level characters ready to continue the larger Curse of Strahd adventure. I love fantasizing about what I'd do with spells like Prestidigitation in my every day (no more dirty dishes!! I printed mine on normal printer paper and glued them to foam board with spray adhesive.
